En este curso se analizará la profunda relación entre las representaciones gráficas, algebraicas y numéricas, pasando de una representación a otra a partir de funciones algebraicas, con base en su descomposición a partir de rectas. Es parte de un enfoque fundamentado en las habilidades de resolución de problemas y el desarrollo de habilidades matemáticas, sin recurrir a fórmulas o procedimientos estereotipados.
El movimiento siempre ha fascinado a la humanidad. Estudiar la trayectoria de los astros, la caída de los cuerpos, las oscilaciones, nos ha permitido entender mejor nuestro mundo y para ello hemos utilizado herramientas y modelos matemáticos. Durante la enseñanza del movimiento (mecánica), tradicionalmente no se muestra la estrecha relación que existe entre la geometría y la mecánica. Este breve curso tiene como meta mostrar a través de ejemplos el uso y la relevancia de la geometría en el estudio del movimiento.
Comenzaremos el curso ejemplificando dos maneras fundamentales de calcular áreas: el método continuo y el de la equi-descomposición. A partir de ahí justificaremos algunas de las ventajas de utilizar la equi-descomposición y por qué se pueden deducir algunas preguntas fundamentales y fascinantes en matemáticas puras. Demostraremos formalmente dos teoremas fundamentales de equi-descomposición, uno con un resultado positivo (en dimensión dos) y el otro con uno negativo (en dimensión tres). Al final del curso platicaremos de manera desenfadada cómo estas preguntas pueden relacionarse con algunas de las teorías más emocionantes, por ejemplo la Integración Motívica, la Lógica Matemática o la Teoría de Grupos.
Es un curso con fines lúdicos y aspiraciones formativas en diversos temas de las matemáticas. Los fundamentos requeridos para comenzar el curso los tiene un buen estudiante de secundaria.
